I quit my consulting job in December.
Two kids. A mortgage. No safety net.
Probably should have been more scared than I was.
A year ago this channel made £80 a month. Maybe £100 if I was lucky.
Now we're consistently at £3-4K. Best month was £7K+ in signings.
Mad that it actually worked.
I remember being on holiday with my partner's family and landing a £1,000 deal.
Just sat there like... this is real money. This might actually work.
That feeling of knowing you're not crazy is hard to explain.
The thing is though, I didn't quit because I was brave.
I quit because I'd spent every night for months building systems while everyone else was watching Netflix.
AI tools running locally. Spreadsheets tracking everything. Research workflows I'd automated.
I literally run an AI channel and I was STILL sleeping on half the tools.
Dismissed NotebookLM for over a year. Never touched deep research. Was prompting like an amateur.
Embarrassing honestly.
The shift was going from using AI like a search engine to actually building things with it.
That's what made the jump possible. Not courage. Infrastructure.
You don't need to quit tomorrow.
But you should probably start building tonight.
I told the full story in this week's video if you want the details.
The course I mention in the video is Google's AI Professional Certificate on Coursera. Genuinely solid if you want a proper foundation.
Luke
PS. I'm building something called Build With Luke. A community for people who want to learn Claude Code and actually build stuff with AI. More on that soon.
